2024 Senior Men’s Rugby
The Senior Men’s team competes in the Calgary Rugby Union Division 1,2,3. The players range in experience from novice to seasoned veterans who have competed nationally.
When does the season begin?
The competitive season begins in May. Games will be played on Saturday mornings and afternoons.
Where are Practices and Games?
Practices start on April 2nd, 2024 at Calgary Irish Rugby Field every Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00pm.
How Do I Register?

- This fee includes your registration fees for Rugby Canada, Rugby Alberta, insurance, physios, referees, equipment, and fields. You have to be registered to play (for insurance reasons).
What do I bring?
- Rugby Shorts (white), green/white top, rugby socks, a mouth guard, and rugby ‘boots’ are mandatory (molded soccer-style cleats are acceptable).
- Rugby jerseys are provided for games. For practices, t-shirts are acceptable.
- Water.
- Scrum caps and soft shoulder pads are not mandatory but are becoming very popular.
Player Commitment
As a member of the Calgary Irish program you are expected to:
- Inform the coaches/team managers of your availability for training and games promptly.
- Make attendance at training sessions a priority, including avoiding work conflicts to the maximum extent possible.
- Respect team selection decisions.
- Arrive promptly on time, ready to play.
- Assist other players in getting rides to and from training and games, if required.
- Wear proper CCIAC kit to games.
- Conduct yourself as a representative of the club at all team events.
- Inform the coaches/team managers of your availability for training.
